That is a gap of 136 robots per 10,000 workers, or roughly 1.6ร Canada's level. Both figures come from IFR World Robotics via Our World in Data.
Direction of travel matters as much as the gap. Canada moved from 225 (2023) to 241 (2024), a +7.1% change, while Sweden went from 347 to 377, a +8.6% change. Sweden is adding automation capacity at the faster rate of the two. Rising density usually reflects new robot installations outpacing manufacturing employment, rather than a shrinking workforce.
